The Governor's Palace, in all its glory. At the top right of the photo above, you can see the incompete wall section and massed enemies trying to come through. |
Lake plus small island residence. The details are incredible: small sampan-style boat, and birds fishing. |
Towering pagoda, sratch built from a foamy cream dispenser can. |
Siege towers attacking the completed wall section. Notice the difference from European-style fortifications: no crenellations. |
Catapults chuck things over the walls in the general direction of the Governor's residence. |
Battering down the gateway. |
The attackers' camp, with heavy cavalry in reserve. |
Another command position for the assault. |
The Governor's chariots await developments. |
Imperial reinforcements arrive, resplendent in yellow. |
Defending multiple bolt shooters. |
Same again, only these ones are mounted on carts. |
WOW! That is some set up!!! The governers palace looks amazing!!

Wow, just wow!
ReplyDeleteThat's a very impressive looking game, Paul!
ReplyDeleteSimon

ReplyDeleteI'll add another Wow!

Stunning, simply stunning.
ReplyDeleteIt was a great set-up and an interesting game though I didn't get the chance to look at it closely. Your game Khadesh game looked pretty good too, well done.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great show. Pity i had to work. Ah well.
ReplyDeleteHi Hendrid, I had a good day because I wasn't doing any of the work - the Khadesh figures all belong to someone else. The one thing I would love to do is find the time to model a proper semi-arid set of terrain for games like this. I know exactly how I'd do it, but the budget is always already earmarked for figures! Mats just don't look so good when you see games like the Han Chinese one, or some of the others that were on show.
ReplyDeleteHi Brian, there was a real mix of games , in all scales and all periods. Something for everyone, I suppose. Will you be able to make it to Claymore? We're thinking of putting on Magnesia with over 2,000 25mm figures...
Looking forward to the full show report ... Meanwhile, Paul, through my 20th Century Blog P.B.Eye-Candy, I have nominated you on my Stylish Blogger Award list.

SoA Shows North
ECW Battles in Miniature
etc.
Thanks, Phil, I'll look you up for the stylish blogger award. I don't have a full report on Carronade, basically because lots of other folks have already been posting better photos than I could manage, especially on The Miniatures Page. I do have a report on our Qadesh game, which I'm hoping to post here some time over the weekend.

ReplyDeleteI agree with Andy well deserved for the award.

Willie
Hi Willie, thanks for this. I'm hoping to do my bit for the stylish blogger award. I've been saying that for over a week now! This time of year is the busiest at work and it inevitably spills over into real life, so I'm a bit stretched for time at the moment.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
