More progress on Caesar's Alaudae:
This time, I've shot them from behind (if you know what I mean!) so that you can hopefully see what I'm trying to do with the cloaks. Having said that, being right in front of this lot is probably not a safe place to be.

The red cloaks look stunning from behind. They all look really good . I think this is some of your best work so far.
ReplyDeleteKeep them coming.
Thanks, Joe. They do take a while, but I figure that these will be the only ones in the army who will look like this, and I want them to stand out from the mass of ordinary legionaries.
DeleteRight Paul; I see what you are up to now with early Alaudae! Great idea. I did some checked cloaks on some Raetians, once, but not as bold; I think I might copy what you are doing. :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Simon, thanks for dropping by. These Companion Miniatures really are a joy to paint.
DeleteLooking great from behind...beautiful clothes!
ReplyDeleteThey're going to look fantastic when they're all based up.

Cheers guys - thanks for looking!
ReplyDeleteLooking good, should be great once all the work is done. Nice!
ReplyDeleteVery Impressive Paul. I thought I was doing well with my Warlord Legionaries but yours are much more distinctive. I now have 5 cohorts worth courtesy of the Champions League final. How is the recruitment race going?
ReplyDeleteHi Graham, I've finished 56 - another 24 to go to make a full Tactica II legion's worth of them. I am trying to spread the cloak designs across all of the bases, so I don't have any cohorts as such yet. I'm hoping that in about a week's time, though, the whole legion will be complete. Fingers crossed...
ReplyDeleteFantastic work, Paul! Plaid is a real pain to paint but the results are simply stunning.
ReplyDeleteCheers, Monty, it is slowing me down somewhat...
