On the Painting Tray: May 2017

Made a start on a rather large Early German army. Figures are Old Glory 25mm:
My painting rate has speeded up slightly more recently, thanks to holiday weekends. These are the initial two of many war bands...

    Love the shields. To me, shields are the hardest thing to get right on ancient figures.

      Thanks, William. I'm putting quite a bit of effort into the shields, using all sorts of combinations. I want the figures themselves to be a bit drab in terms of colours in general, with some highlights to make them stand out - hence the shields. These Old Glory tribesmen are certainly dynamic, too.
